Black Snow Rising

In this the second book of the Acey Tapp Series, Megan receives by mail a small leather pouch. The senders, a close friend and her husband, request that Megan have it examined by a forensic specialist. It's found to be made of human skin. Before the senders can be advised, they disappear. Acey and Megan travel to Africa to look for them.

The trail leads into the Sahara where the missing couple had been collecting folklore from various desert clans. An overheated radiator puts Megan and Acey under the thumb of a UN team living at an underground oasis. The travelers are encouraged to return home.
